Welcome Back ECHS Community!

 We hope everyone has had a smooth transition back to campus over the last two weeks! Yesterday was the first Owl Friday and ACC classes start Monday. We are sure students will be glad to be getting settled into their new routines.

Don’t forget one of the most important “routines” of the back to school season, join ECHS PTSA or renew your membership TODAY to lend your voice to our advocacy efforts on behalf of public education and to show your support for the students, staff and entire ECHS community! While you are in our online store, make sure to purchase the latest spirit wear or make a $25 donation to support Project Graduation for the Class of 2025!

 Attached is our August Newsletter as well as information for Senior families and a flyer for our Panda Express Virtual NATIONWIDE Spirit Day, September 2nd, supporting Homecoming 2024! (HINT: Theme for Homecoming is announced in the newsletter…so make sure to check it out.)

 We look forward to reconnecting with you all at our first Membership Meeting of the year: September 10 @ 5:30pm in the Commons Portable. ECHS Open House to immediately follow from 6-8pm. See you there!

IMPORTANT: 2024-2025 RRECHS Handbook & Acknowledgement Form

We are gearing up to begin the 2024 – 2025 school year and look forward to greeting our ECHS OWLS very soon! To ensure we are all on the same page regarding campus expectations, the following information is being provided for everyone to review thoroughly before the first day of school. This correspondence highlights our 2024-2025 ECHS Student-Parent Handbook2024-2025 Acknowledgement Form and expectations for our students while at Austin Community College. All our students, parents and staff are asked to please take time to review and read completely.

 

Students attending Round Rock Early College High School are given a unique high school experience, focused on academics with a rigorous course of study, enabling them to earn an Associate’s degree from Austin Community College at the same time they complete their high school diploma. This is an awesome opportunity for our students that comes with a significant amount of responsibility as well.

 

In accepting to attend Round Rock Early College High School, students are committed and responsible to follow all the rules, regulations, policies and procedures for Round Rock I.S.DRound Rock Early College High School and Austin Community College.

 

Please take time to review the 2024-2025 Round Rock Early College High School Student/Parent Handbook and the following 2024-2025 Student & Parent Acknowledgement FormEach RRECHS student and parent shall print and sign the statements to acknowledge that they will be responsible for reading and following the rules, expectations, and policies and procedures contained therein. Please know, failure to read and sign the RRECHS handbook and Student & Parent Acknowledgement Form does not excuse the student from any consequences if they are in violation of any policy and procedure.

Verification of Enrollment (VOE) Policy and Procedures

What is a VOE and why do I need one?

In order to obtain a learner’s license or license to operate a motor vehicle, the Texas Department of Public Safety requires those under the age of 18 who have not obtained a high school diploma to provide documentation of enrollment and attendance status. A Verification of Enrollment (VOE) Form is used for this purpose.

How do I get a VOE?

  1. PLANNING AHEAD.

VOE forms will not be issued on demand. While requests will be handled on a rolling basis, be prepared to wait up to three business days for processing.

  1. REQUESTING A VOE.

You can request a VOE by filling out the request form located at the ECHS website.

  1. QUALIFYING FOR A VOE.

The student must (1) be currently enrolled at ECHS and

(2) a. have earned credit for all courses the previous semester at ECHS, or

  1. maintained 90% or better attendance in all courses for the previous semester at ECHS.Alternative ways to qualify:
  • If these two conditions have not been met, available attendance and credit information from the most previous school may be considered along with attendance data available for time enrolled at ECHS. If at least 90% attendance can be established, a VOE will be issued.
  • In the absence of sufficient enrollment, attendance data or given student behavior concerns, a VOE will not be issued. However, an appeal may be submitted in these types of circumstances for review and reconsideration for receiving a VOE.
    OBTAINING YOUR VOE.

If you meet established criteria your VOE will be available for pickup from the front office within three business days.
